Privacy Policy

FableForge ("we", "our", "us") is a service that creates personalized, AI-generated bedtime stories for children. Your privacy — and your child's safety — are central to how we built it. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. What we collect

• Your email address, when you sign up to use our free story limit or subscribe to a paid plan.
• The information you type into the story form: your child's first name, age, preferred setting, friendly companion, lesson, and any optional topic. This is used solely to write the story; we do not require, request, or store any other personal data about your child.
• Stories you save to your library, which are stored locally in your browser (localStorage) on your device.
• Basic usage and traffic data (page views, referrer, approximate location), collected through privacy-respecting analytics tools and standard server logs.
• Payment information, if you subscribe. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card number.

2. How we use it

• To generate your personalized bedtime stories.
• To send you account and product emails (welcome, free-limit reminders, win-back) — you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
• To process subscription payments and handle refunds.
• To measure and improve the service, including marketing performance (so we know which channels reach families well).

3. Children's privacy (COPPA)

FableForge is designed for use by parents and guardians on behalf of their children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Accounts and email addresses belong to the adult who signs up. The child's first name and age that a parent enters are used only to generate that family's stories and are not used for advertising, sold to anyone, or shared beyond what's strictly required to write the story.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to us directly, please email hello@fableforge.cloud and we will delete it.

4. Service providers we use

To run FableForge we rely on a small number of trusted vendors:

• Cloudflare — website hosting, security, and content delivery.
• Anthropic (Claude API) — the AI model that writes each story. The prompt we send contains only the inputs you provide; no identifying information beyond your child's first name and age is sent.
• Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions and one-time purchases.
• Klaviyo — sending account and product emails to subscribers.
• Google Analytics & Google Ads, Meta (Facebook) Pixel — measuring traffic and the performance of advertising.

Each vendor has its own privacy policy and we choose them with care.

5. Cookies and tracking

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality (keeping you signed in to your free quota), for measuring traffic, and for measuring ad performance. You can clear or block cookies at any time using your browser settings; the site will still work, though your saved library and free-quota tracking may reset.

6. Data retention and your rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you at any time by emailing hello@fableforge.cloud. We will respond within a reasonable time (typically within 30 days). Residents of California, the EU, the UK, and similar jurisdictions have additional rights under their local laws, including the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — FableForge does not sell personal information.

7. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (HTTPS everywhere, encrypted secrets, vetted vendors) to protect your information. No internet service is 100% secure, so we encourage you to choose a strong, unique password for any account and to keep your email account secure.

8. Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "last updated" date and, when appropriate, notify subscribed users by email.
